Love Calgary?
Love Coffee?
Love Free Things?

One of the best deal’s going right now is the free 20 minute Phil & Sebastian Roasterie Tour at their Simmons Building HQ.

Offered on Wednesday’s from 12:15pm to 12:35pm, this great option to learn more about one of Calgary’s top specialty coffee roasters is a no-brainer for your lunch break. I took the opportunity recently to head down to East Village and experience this for myself. My tour was lead by Sam who has been with Phil & Sebastian for close to 5 years. He heads up much of the wholesale side of things and was a wealth of knowledge.

I should mention that it’s less of a “tour” of the roasterie and more of a story-telling session. While the entire experience takes place inside the Simmons Building cafe at the large windows where you can look on to see the work being done, you don’t actually go inside the roasterie area. They also offer a much more in-depth 1-hour tour that costs $42 dollars which includes a coffee tasting experience, tour of the roasting room and on-site green bean storage, and a look at their training lab upstairs. To cap it off  you also get a bag of coffee to take home! Not a bad deal at all if you ask me.

Even if you don’t take advantage of their 1 hour tour this free one was great chance to learn the history of this great coffee roaster, and Sam was totally happy to answer ANY questions we threw at him. We learned more about the company history, the story behind their tricked-out 1961 Probat G45, and much about how they source & roast their coffee. The whole experience was super informative and is a great way to up your coffee knowledge game.

So grab some friends and get your tickets to the free tour here on Eventbrite.

Wanna skip the free tour and go straight for the 1hr option, click here on Eventbrite.

And while you’re there make sure to grab a coffee to enjoy during the tour and some beans to brew back at home! They’ll be more than happy to help you find what you’re looking for.

Stay Caffeinated,

Tyler
